Letter of Intent Guidelines

Applicants should first submit
one (1) original and six (6) copies of a letter of intent, not to exceed three pages. This letter should include:

A project title
A project number, given to you upon registration
A one or two sentence overview of the proposed project
Purpose of the project – what it hopes to accomplish
Rationale for the project – evidence of need
Plan through which the project’s objectives will be reached
Amount and duration of financial support requested

Please include a cover letter on your organization's letter head with each copy of your letter of intent. In addition, the first page of your letter of intent text must also be on letter head. If this is your first application to the Foundation, attach to the original letter one each of the following: a copy of the organization's IRS letter determining its tax-exempt status, the most recent audited financial statement, and a copy of the annual report or other material outlining the organization's history and activities.

Do not submit attachments other than those requested. If you have previously applied to the Foundation and your IRS tax-exempt letter is still valid, you do not need to submit the documents noted above. If the preliminary request meets the Foundation's criteria, a full proposal may be invited.
